Dear Athens District 10,
Athens is strong. These last few weeks have certainly been challenging for our community, both from a health and safety standpoint, as well as an economic one. But, one thing is for sure, we’ve seen how our community has come together to meet the challenge of dealing with a contagious virus head on. We can be very confident that once this has past, Athens will be even stronger and better able to deal with the hard challenges we’ve been facing before this virus came along.
I’m running for Athens-Clarke County District 10 Commissioner to make sure Athens grows stronger by having an economy that works for everyone with a Skilled Community, to improve the health of our residents, neighborhoods, and environment by having a Livable Community, to ensure that equity and justice are afforded to everyone with a Fair Community, and to build community relationships so that lives are improved within an Engaged Community.
We can work together to make Athens Strong by focusing on creating a thriving, livable community for everyone- a community that beats poverty, promotes economic opportunities, is fair and just, supports the arts and creative culture of our community, meets diverse transportation needs, and protects our neighborhoods.
As your Commissioner, I’ve worked to make sure our local government is responsive to your needs so that you can start and grow a business, so that equity and equality are always part of the solution, so that your neighborhood is protected, and so that the health and well-being of our community is strong.
It’s our community, and it’s our government, so let’s make it work. I look forward to hearing your ideas in ways we can make Athens stronger, and I ask for your vote for Athens Commissioner District 10.
